BRAZIL-What a "coincidence"!

Struck by “Mafia Lightning”?

My “New Jersey” mindset does not allow me to quickly accept “coincidence”. The Mob used to employ various methods to deal with evidence of wrongdoing. Numerous witnesses to Mob crimes were reported to have committed “suicide” by stabbing themselves in the back three or four times then jumping off a bridge.

Yesterday, following the information that revealed the planned testimony of Senator Delcídio Amaral and that included the comment that Dilma and Lula were “totally aware” of the conduct of the acquisition by Petrobrás of the refinery in Pasadena, Texas that involved a loss to the company of over US$800 million, the refinery caught fire and burned for 3 hours. Houston firefighters estimate (it’s still being analyzed) that the cause of the fire was the explosion of a generator. Only one person was slightly injured, treated and released from hospital.

Now, I don’t rule out the question of “coincidence” since the precarious operating conditions of the refinery were and are well known. It was reported that it even had a fire on a previous occasion. However, my New Jersey mindset suggests that the timing of the incident is at best a bit strange, especially in the context of Amaral’s revelations.

Since I raised the question of how far the PT is willing to go to retain its hold on power and the Pasadena refinery issue had been resurrected by Amaral, it might be useful to question the Pasadena incident much in the same way one would question what unique abilities would allow a witness in a Mob trial to stab him/herself in the back three or four times and then be able to jump off a bridge. Or no?
